A Strong Start

Nice Neighbor got off to a good start in the race and settled back in the two path, keeping pace with the rest of the field. She then began to press the leader as they entered the turn, showing off her competitive spirit and determination.

A Fast Pace

The race got off to a fast start, with a quarter-mile time of 22.22 seconds and a half-mile time of 45.82 seconds. Despite the quick pace, The Good Samaritan filly was able to maintain her speed and stay in contention, putting herself in position to make a move in the stretch.

Gaining Command

In the upper stretch, Nice Neighbor made her move, gaining command and holding on well to prevail in the end by 1 1/4 lengths. The finish time for the 5 1/2 furlongs was 1:04.87, a testament to Nice Neighbor’s speed and endurance.

Impressive Career Stats

This was the Good Samaritan filly’s second win in five career starts, and she has also finished second in two races and placed third in one race. Her total earnings as of her last race were $72,660, a solid showing for a young horse still early in her career. Her impressive stats and performance in her last race bode well for her future in the sport.

Successful Connections

Nice Neighbor was purchased by Clark Shepherd (Shepherd Equine Advisers) as agent for Larry Hirsch for $40,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale in 2021, with Scott Mallory as the consignor. Her connections, including owner Highlander Training Center and breeder Amy Marie Bayle, have reason to be excited about her potential for future success.

With her impressive speed, determination, and promising pedigree, the Good Samaritan filly looks to have a bright future in the sport. Her connections will no doubt be keeping a close eye on her progress and potential, as they continue to guide her career in the coming months.
