INVULNERABLE (c, 2, Practical Joke – Mobeautiful, by Uncle Mo)
INVULNERABLE (c, 2, Practical Joke – Mobeautiful, by Uncle Mo), which was given odds of 8-1 in its first race, started a half-step behind but quickly caught up to fight for the lead. With opponents breathing down his neck, the bay colt by Practical Joke ran the first quarter in 21.31 seconds and the half-mile in 44.98 seconds. As the race went on, he began to appear a little tired, but he held off the determined challenge of Commerce Comet (American Freedom) in the homestretch to win by a neck under jockey Luis Saez.
Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $69,000. Owner – Highlander Training Center; Breeder – Hartley De Renzo Thoroughbreds; Trainer – Joe Sharp.
Invulnerable (Practical Joke) is the first foal from his dam, who won two races, and is followed by a weanling filly by Vino Rosso. This past spring, Mobeautiful was bred to McKinzie.
Invulnerable was acquired for $130,000 by Clark Shepherd (Shepherd Equine Advisers), bloodstock agent for owner Highlander Training Center (Larry Hirsch) at the 2021 OBS January Sale from the consignment of Summerfield.
