TOP LINE GROWTH (g, 4, Tapizar–Orinoquia {SW & G1SP, $210,042}, by Whywhywhy)
TOP LINE GROWTH (g, 4, Tapizar–Orinoquia {SW & G1SP, $210,042}, by Whywhywhy), coming off a great 2019 campaign winning the Iowa Derby and finishing 3rd in the Grade 3 Smarty Jones at Parx, returned to the races after a 322 day hiatus. He was last seen winning a track-and-trip optional claimer by daylight over a next out winner.
The Laurel track record setter (1 mile in 1:34.07 – June 8, 2019) chased in second while kept well off the rail under confident handling by jockey Julian Pimental. He ranged up and took over at will heading for home and kicked away to draw off and win by 5 1/2 lengths while under a hand ride.
The winner by Tapizar is half to Kitchen Fire (First Defence), SP, $205,721, an unraced 2yo filly Mshawish, a yearling filly by Dialed In and a 2020 colt by Liam’s Map. Orinoquia was bred back to Frosted earlier this year.
Lifetime Record: SW & GSP, 8-5-0-1, $319,325. O/B-The Elkstone Group, LLC (Stuart Grant) (MD); T-Kelly Rubley.
