I’M FINE (f, 3, Blame – Stormy Caress, by Stormy Atlantic)
I’M FINE (Blame) got squeezed between foes and was forced to steady when Bella Dominica (Giant Surprise) shut down her lane after the start. The New York-bred Blame filly chased three to four paths off the inside down the backstretch. She then got floated out five to six wide midway on the turn as Steppin’ Hawk (Two Step Salsa) took the scenic route to her inside. Jockey Eric Cancel angled the bay filly in a path to swing four to five wide into upper stretch and rallied angling to be just off the inside near the eighth pole. I’m Fine took over command a sixteenth from home and edged clear to the finish to prevail by 4 widening lengths.
I’m Fine’s dam, Stormy Caress (Stormy Atlantic) also is represented by an unnamed yearling colt by Flatter. The Stormy Atlantic mare is out of the Grade 1 winning champion 2YO Caressing (Honour and Glory)($955, 998) that also produced multiple Grade 1 winning West Coast (Flatter)($5,803,800). West Coast is currently standing stud at Lane’s End Farm in Versailles, KY.
