DREAMWORKER (f, 2, Animal Kingdom–Dream to Dream, by Scat Daddy)

DREAMWORKER (f, 2, Animal Kingdom–Dream to Dream, by Scat Daddy)’s career debut at Churchill Downs Oct. 31 on dirt around two turns resulted in a last of eight going off at long odds. Getting Lasix here for the first time, the Animal Kingdom Filly found the surface switch to her liking and stalked while tucking down to the rail around the first turn. The 7-2 shot smoothly moved inside of the tiring 91-1 leader at the start of the far turn to lead at the 5/16 pole. Opening up on the field, Dreamworker dug in in the upper stretch and gamely shook free of Zisisit {Ire}. She held sway safely thereafter to win by 1 1/4 lengths under a masterful ride by jockey Adam Beschizza.

Sales history: $130,000 Ylg ’20 KEESEP.

Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-0, $25,326. O- Larry Hirsch & Wayne Sanders; B-Runnymede Farm, Inc., Peter Callahan, Manlius Stable LLC & Bill Oppenheim (KY); T-Joe Sharp.

The winner has a yearling half-sister by Will Take Charge and a weanling half-brother by Twirling Candy. Her dam was bred to Munnings for 2022.

Clark Shepherd (Shepherd Equine Advisers), bloodstock agent for Larry Hirsch & Wayne Sanders, purchased Dreamworker at the 2020 Keeneland September Yearling Sale from the consignment of Runnymede Farm.
